The Flux VISCOPOWER TR progressive cavity pump has a horizontal design, and it is an ideal solution for pumping viscous fluids up to 100,000 CP and even processing paste-like fluids from a drum or IBC, where there is no accessibility from the top. This electric barrel pump is equipped with a robust bearing flange that provides additional support and prevents the pump from running in the wrong direction of rotation, ensuring excellent performance and extended service life. Built with a special focus on easy and fast disassembly and cleaning, the VISCOPOWER TR high viscosity electric drum pump has a comprehensive modular design that enables disassembling in just 30 seconds. Thanks to this unique modular system allowing quick replacement of components such as screws, stators, motors and seals, this viscous fluid and chemical barrel pump can be modified to adapt to different media or any special applications. This means that this Flux drum pump is future-proofed for the ever-changing industry needs and you can save time and money investing in pump replacements.
Due to the progressive cavity style design, the high viscosity pump provides smooth, pulsation free flow at constant pressure, ensuring little disruption to the pumped product. This makes the VISCOPOWER TR electric barrel pump a preferable choice for handling shear-sensitive fluids. Thanks to its wide viscosity range, this high viscosity drum pump is a perfect solution for multiple industrial applications, including pumping viscous fluids, highly flammable media, and media containing solids up to 8mm. To further enhance the pump design, this chemical drum pump can be adjusted individually based on the media's characteristics to provide efficient operation.
The VISCOPOWER TR can be used both in fixed installations as well as a portable pumping solution. This Flux drum pump can be mounted on a trolley or a console that can be easily moved between drums and IBCs. In addition, the stator of this high viscosity electric drum pump can be supplied in various materials, ensuring that the pump can be used for any application. Available with ATEX certification for flammable fluids or environment, this Flux high viscosity drum pump can also be supplied with a three-phase motor, compressed-air motors or gear drive motor.

FAQs
It consists of a spiralled helical rotor (like a cork screw) that sits tightly inside a rubber stator/sleeve. As the rotor turns inside the stator, it forms a set of fixed-shaped cavities that progress along the length of the stator and force the fluid inside to move along with them as they turn.
Their viscosity handling is unrivalled, apply low shear to delicate products and can handle large solids, which means that whilst they are quite expensive in design, they are often selected for applications when other pumping technologies will fail.
Yes! However, it should be noted that abrasive fluids e.g. low viscosity/water based fluids containing solids may cause shorter stator wear. Therefore whilst large solids and high solid content can be handled, this is usually reserved for viscous, lubricating fluids.
Put most simply, a barrel pump, is a pump connected to an immersion tube that sits within the drum with its motor located outside of the container. The pump draws up the fluid through its immersion tube and is then dispensed via a hose or pipe that is connected to its outlet.
If you have a 1000 litre IBC you will require a 1200mm tube, a 205 litre drum requires a 1000mm and if you have a smaller container 700mm and shorter tubes are available. For larger containers we can offer longer tube sets on specification
For liquids with a flashpoint below 50°C, we offer our Stainless Steel F400 models and Viscopower series with ATEX approved motors or Viscoflux Lite EX.
Our range includes both FDA and 3A approved hygienic models. When the viscosity is >1200cP we offer the sanitary Viscopower F570 and F580 models and the Viscoflux Mobile. If <1200cP we typically select the F427, or the F430 food grade version when pumping alcohols or foodstuff with solids.
To ensure you get the correct Flux spare parts, we need to identify the exact Flux pump model you have. Please provide the model and serial number found on the pump name plate.
Castle Pumps can supply all Flux pump parts detailed on the spare parts list including motor, o-ring, shaft seal, impeller, inner and outer tube worldwide.
If you are pumping one liquid or very similar liquids, you can use the F314 or F424 seal-less models provided that the materials are compatible, if you are pumping multiple diferent liquids or where cross contamination is not desirable use the F310 or F430 drum pumps.
The general rule of thumb is that for low-medium duty applications where viscosity is <250cP the F300 is sufficient. For heavy duty applications, flammable liquids and viscosities of <1200cP choose the F400. For shear sensitive fluids or viscosities that exceed 1200cP then the Viscpower is required. Upon disclosure of your application, we can confirm the best solution.
All Flux barrel and IBC pump models are available with additional accessories that we can supply as a kit should you need delivery hose, a trigger nozzle, valves, flow meter and any other fittings.
