The Flux Viscoflux Mobile S is an all encompassing drum emptying system comprising of an electric barrel pump, motor, follower plate, lift arm with start/stop function and trolley chassis. This Flux drum pump is designed for the transfer of highly viscous, pasty and non-free-flowing products up to 500,000 cP from barrels with or without aseptic bags.
The Viscoflux high viscosity drum pump ensures that less than 1% of the product remains after pumping, meaning a reduction in costly product waste and low disposal costs due to the small residual quantity left in the barrel. Thanks to its progressive cavity style design, the Viscoflux electric barrel pump offers smooth, pulsation-free action with little disturbance to the pumped product making it ideal for shear sensitive products.
Supplied on a Stainless Steel portable chassis, this high viscosity barrel pump can be easily moved between drums and to different parts of the production facility, as well as being able to be quickly disassembled for cleaning. This combined with its hermetical seal that ensures the medium remains safe and its FDA approval makes the Flux pump ideal for food processing and cosmetic applications.
Features of the Viscoflux Mobile S Flux Drum Pump:
- Includes pump, motor, follower plate, lift arm with start/stop function and trolley chassis.
- Progressive cavity drum pump design allowing shear sensitive mediums and solid content up to 8mm to be handled
- For high viscosity, pasty and non- free flowing products up to 500,000cP
- Leaves only 1% of residual amount in the drums
- Hermetically sealed for process safety ensuring medium is in a closed process even if transfer is interrupted
- Extremely mobile without need for crane or forklift
- For emptying floor standing drums standing or for pallets with four drums
- Available with customisable control unit for batch operations
- Stainless steel construction for FDA compliance and use in hygienic environments
- Motor can stay attached to process device while cleaning the pump
- Motor options include three phase electric motors and air powered motors.
The Viscoflux high viscosity drum pump is a cost-effective emptying system for transferring non-free-flowing and high viscosity fluids from the barrel. As a Flux pumps supplier, we can supply this barrel pump with an electric or compressed air motor.
- High-quality barrel pump – Flux pumps are well known German-made barrel pumps that have been in the market for over 70 years.
- Suitable for high viscosity - This progressive cavity drum pump can handle viscous fluids and barely flowing pastes up to 500,000cP, making it an ideal solution for transferring fluids such as vaseline, peanut paste, paints and silicones.
- Solids – Flux Viscoflux barrel pump can handle hard and soft solid particles up to 8 mm in diameter.
- Small residual quantity- This high viscosity pump is able to pump out all the fluid in the drum leaving less than 1% in the drum with no products attached to the drum wall.
- Mobile device - Thanks to its Stainless Steel chassis on wheels with lifting arm, it is extremely easy to move it around the site and between drums.
- Easy to disassemble - The Viscoflux pump and motor can be easily taken apart for cleaning, leaving the portable chassis to be jet washed without damage.
This Flux pump is a versatile pumping solution for a range of industrial and even food processing and cosmetic applications. Due to its unique features, this electric barrel pump can provide complete emptying of the drum and smooth pumping of the most viscous and shear sensitive of fluids.
- Vaseline (including from drums with inliners)
- Cosmetic products such as creams, mascara, ointments, face masks
- Food products such as tomato puree, caramel, peanut butter, mayonnaise and pastes
- Waxes, resins and adhesives
- Greases up to grease class 3
- Coating and casting compounds
- PVC printing ink and insulating paint
- Wood filling compounds
- Paints and silicones
- Sealing pastes
FAQs
It consists of a spiralled helical rotor (like a cork screw) that sits tightly inside a rubber stator/sleeve. As the rotor turns inside the stator, it forms a set of fixed-shaped cavities that progress along the length of the stator and force the fluid inside to move along with them as they turn.
Their viscosity handling is unrivalled, apply low shear to delicate products and can handle large solids, which means that whilst they are quite expensive in design, they are often selected for applications when other pumping technologies will fail.
Yes! However, it should be noted that abrasive fluids e.g. low viscosity/water based fluids containing solids may cause shorter stator wear. Therefore whilst large solids and high solid content can be handled, this is usually reserved for viscous, lubricating fluids.
Put most simply, a barrel pump, is a pump connected to an immersion tube that sits within the drum with its motor located outside of the container. The pump draws up the fluid through its immersion tube and is then dispensed via a hose or pipe that is connected to its outlet.
If you have a 1000 litre IBC you will require a 1200mm tube, a 205 litre drum requires a 1000mm and if you have a smaller container 700mm and shorter tubes are available. For larger containers we can offer longer tube sets on specification
For liquids with a flashpoint below 50°C, we offer our Stainless Steel F400 models and Viscopower series with ATEX approved motors or Viscoflux Lite EX.
Our range includes both FDA and 3A approved hygienic models. When the viscosity is >1200cP we offer the sanitary Viscopower F570 and F580 models and the Viscoflux Mobile. If <1200cP we typically select the F427, or the F430 food grade version when pumping alcohols or foodstuff with solids.
To ensure you get the correct Flux spare parts, we need to identify the exact Flux pump model you have. Please provide the model and serial number found on the pump name plate.
Castle Pumps can supply all Flux pump parts detailed on the spare parts list including motor, o-ring, shaft seal, impeller, inner and outer tube worldwide.
All Flux barrel and IBC pump models are available with additional accessories that we can supply as a kit should you need delivery hose, a trigger nozzle, valves, flow meter and any other fittings.
