The Flux F550GS Eccentric Worm Drive Barrel Pump comes with planetary gears and is designed for transferring viscous, free-flowing products up to 30,000cP such as pastes, soaps, paints and adhesives. The wide viscosity range of this drum pump makes it a versatile solution for transferring various fluids specifically from a barrel or IBC. The progressive cavity style design of this high viscosity pump provides transfer at constant pressure, ensuring a smooth pumping action with little disturbance to the pumped product, making it ideal for shear sensitive mediums. Easy to disassemble and clean, the Flux drum pump is a perfect solution for many industrial applications. The F550GS viscous fluid pump is also lightweight, making it easy to move between drum or IBCs and suitable for applications requiring quick change.
The stator is available in a variety of materials and sealing options, and can include a mechanical seal or stuffing box, making the F550GS Flux pump suitable for many applications. This Flux electric drum pump can handle fluids containing solids up to 8mm and is also available with ATEX certification for flammable fluids or environment.

The F550GS drum pump is known as a progressive cavity or eccentric worm drive pump, able to transfer thicker fluids from barrel or IBC. As a Flux pumps supplier, we can supply this viscous fluid pump with an electric or compressed air motor.
- High-quality barrel pump – Flux pumps are well known German-made barrel pumps that have been in the market for over 70 years.
- Wide viscosity range - This electric drum pump can handle both low and high viscosity fluids up to 30,000cP, making it an ideal solution for transferring even barely moving mediums.
- Solids – Flux F550GS drum pump can handle hard and soft solid particles up to 8 mm in diameter.
- Suitable for shear-sensitive liquids - This high viscosity barrel pump has a smooth flow at a constant pressure offering low shear, pulsation-free liquid transfer.
- Easy to disassemble and move - The F550GS can be easily taken apart for cleaning, and due to the lightweight design can be moved quickly between barrels and IBCs.
This Flux pump is a versatile pumping solution for a range of industrial applications involving viscous, shear sensitive products with solids. Due to its unique features, this high viscosity pump can provide smooth pumping and low wear as there are no valves, vanes etc.

FAQs
Put most simply, a barrel pump, is a pump connected to an immersion tube that sits within the drum with its motor located outside of the container. The pump draws up the fluid through its immersion tube and is then dispensed via a hose or pipe that is connected to its outlet.
If you have a 1000 litre IBC you will require a 1200mm tube, a 205 litre drum requires a 1000mm and if you have a smaller container 700mm and shorter tubes are available. For larger containers we can offer longer tube sets on specification
If your fluid is prone to crystallisation, then you can use the F310 or F430 models as the pump bearings are protected from wear.
The F425 model is capable of emptying 99.98% of a container's contents. This drum pump is generally selected when the liquid is particularly valuable to minimise waste.
The F426 model is capable of both mixing and pumping the liquid within the container, which is a lower cost solution when compared to a separate mixer and pump.
For liquids with a flashpoint below 50°C, we offer our Stainless Steel F400 models and Viscopower series with ATEX approved motors or Viscoflux Lite EX.
Our range includes both FDA and 3A approved hygienic models. When the viscosity is >1200cP we offer the sanitary Viscopower F570 and F580 models and the Viscoflux Mobile. If <1200cP we typically select the F427, or the F430 food grade version when pumping alcohols or foodstuff with solids.
If you are pumping one liquid or very similar liquids, you can use the F314 or F424 seal-less models, if you are pumping multiple diferent liquids or where cross contamination is not desirable use the F310 or F430 drum pumps.
To ensure you get the correct Flux spare parts, we need to identify the exact Flux pump model you have. Please provide the model and serial number found on the pump name plate.
Castle Pumps can supply all Flux pump parts detailed on the spare parts list including motor, o-ring, shaft seal, impeller, inner and outer tube worldwide.
If you are pumping one liquid or very similar liquids, you can use the F314 or F424 seal-less models provided that the materials are compatible, if you are pumping multiple diferent liquids or where cross contamination is not desirable use the F310 or F430 drum pumps.
The general rule of thumb is that for low-medium duty applications where viscosity is <250cP the F300 is sufficient. For heavy duty applications, flammable liquids and viscosities of <1200cP choose the F400. For shear sensitive fluids or viscosities that exceed 1200cP then the Viscpower is required. Upon disclosure of your application, we can confirm the best solution.
All Flux barrel and IBC pump models are available with additional accessories that we can supply as a kit should you need delivery hose, a trigger nozzle, valves, flow meter and any other fittings.
