The Flux F424 Series Electric Barrel Pump is designed for transferring low viscosity aggressive and flammable liquids including chemicals, acids and oil up to 1200 cP from drums and IBCs. The F424 chemical drum pump comes with a unique spiral-shaped guide bearing inside the inner tube, which provides driveshaft support, increases service life, eliminates vibration and prevents the build-up of unwanted deposits in the pump. Thanks to the absence of a mechanical seal, this chemical transfer pump is suitable for transferring solvents and other fluids that would otherwise cause wear and leaking of the seal. As a Flux pumps supplier, we recommend this electric drum pump be used only to transfer one liquid. In case you need a chemical transfer pump for multiple liquids, you might need to consider the F430 model with a mechanical seal.

The shaft of the F424 Flux barrel pump is lubricated by the pumped fluid, providing no concern for the operator or wearing seals. Suitable for free-flowing, non-abrasive liquids that do not bond or crystallize, this chemical drum pump has a heavy duty design that ensures long service. This chemical pump is also lightweight and easy to move, disassemble and clean with minimum effort, making it a perfect solution for many industrial applications. F424 electric drum pump is also available in a variety of materials and immersion lengths, including models with ATEX certificate.

Features of the F 424 Flux Drum Pump:

  • Heavy duty, electric drum pump with no mechanical seal
  • Ideal for dispensing from IBCs and drums
  • Suitable for transferring almost every low viscosity fluid up to 1200cP
  • Suitable for high temperature applications
  • Safe dry running of the pump
  • Shaft is lubricated by the pumped fluid
  • Optimum barrel emptying due to unique impellor design
  • Easy to dismantle for cleaning with a minimum of effort
  • Optimal drainage of the inner tube
  • Stainless steel version is tested and certified according to ATEX-Directive 94/9/EC, category 1/2, for use in Zone 0 – EC-Type-Examination Certificate No. PTB 00 ATEX 4110 X
  • Variety of motor options available including brushless motors, commutator motors, air motors and three-phase gear motors

This Flux pump is a perfect pumping solution for transferring light free flowing, non-abrasive liquids that do not bond or crystallize from drum or IBC. The chemical drum pump has long service life due to its heavy duty design.

  • High-quality barrel pump – Flux pumps are well known German-made barrel pumps that have been in the market for over 70 years.
  • Quickly disassembled for cleaning – The F424 chemical transfer pump can be quickly and easily taken apart for cleaning, making it a perfect pumping solution for many industrial applications.
  • No mechanical seals – This Flux pump is seal-less, meaning that aggressive fluids can be pumped that would otherwise damage a mechanical seal and result in leaking or wear.
  • Robust design – F424 has a unique spiral-shaped guide bearing inside the inner tube that provides additional support, increases service life and eliminates vibration.

The Flux F424 barrel pump is designed for transferring light liquids, including chemicals, acids and oil up to 1200 cP. The chemical pump is also available in different materials and immersion lengths to suit almost every low viscosity barrel pumping application.

  • Acids such as hydrochloric acid, boric acid, sulfuric acid, citric acid
  • Sodium chloride (table salt), potassium chloride, sodium sulfate, sodium carbonate
  • Petroleum, diesel, heating oil, hydraulic oil, engine oil
  • Gasoline, formic acid (as from 85 %), ethylene glycol

The Flux F424 Series Drum Pumps are available with the following material options:

FAQs

Put most simply, a barrel pump, is a pump connected to an immersion tube that sits within the drum with its motor located outside of the container. The pump draws up the fluid through its immersion tube and is then dispensed via a hose or pipe that is connected to its outlet.

If you have a 1000 litre IBC you will require a 1200mm tube, a 205 litre drum requires a 1000mm and if you have a smaller container 700mm and shorter tubes are available. For larger containers we can offer longer tube sets on specification

If your fluid is prone to crystallisation, then you can use the F310 or F430 models as the pump bearings are protected from wear.

The F425 model is capable of emptying 99.98% of a container's contents. This drum pump is generally selected when the liquid is particularly valuable to minimise waste.

The F426 model is capable of both mixing and pumping the liquid within the container, which is a lower cost solution when compared to a separate mixer and pump.

For liquids with a flashpoint below 50°C, we offer our Stainless Steel F400 models and Viscopower series with ATEX approved motors or Viscoflux Lite EX.

Our range includes both FDA and 3A approved hygienic models. When the viscosity is >1200cP we offer the sanitary Viscopower F570 and F580 models and the Viscoflux Mobile. If <1200cP we typically select the F427, or the F430 food grade version when pumping alcohols or foodstuff with solids.

If you are pumping one liquid or very similar liquids, you can use the F314 or F424 seal-less models, if you are pumping multiple diferent liquids or where cross contamination is not desirable use the F310 or F430 drum pumps.

To ensure you get the correct Flux spare parts, we need to identify the exact Flux pump model you have. Please provide the model and serial number found on the pump name plate.

Castle Pumps can supply all Flux pump parts detailed on the spare parts list including motor, o-ring, shaft seal, impeller, inner and outer tube worldwide.

If you are pumping one liquid or very similar liquids, you can use the F314 or F424 seal-less models provided that the materials are compatible, if you are pumping multiple diferent liquids or where cross contamination is not desirable use the F310 or F430 drum pumps.

The general rule of thumb is that for low-medium duty applications where viscosity is <250cP the F300 is sufficient. For heavy duty applications, flammable liquids and viscosities of <1200cP choose the F400. For shear sensitive fluids or viscosities that exceed 1200cP then the Viscpower is required. Upon disclosure of your application, we can confirm the best solution.

All Flux barrel and IBC pump models are available with additional accessories that we can supply as a kit should you need delivery hose, a trigger nozzle, valves, flow meter and any other fittings.
