The Debem Boxer 90 Air Operated Diaphragm Pump is an Italian manufactured AODD pump designed to very high standards. The Boxer range are very versatile air operated double diaphragm pumps for use within many industrial applications involving chemicals, process fluids, waste water and is commonly used as a high viscosity pump and for liquids containing solids.

The Boxer AODD pump comes with wetted parts available in a range of materials, making it compatible with almost any fluid on the market. Thanks to its ATEX approval to Zone 2 (Zone 1 on request), it is also suitable for use within potentially flammable environments.

This Debem range of air operated diaphragm pumps are what we like to describe as “Fit and forget” solutions. Thanks to their low maintenance, long service life and little manual intervention required, the air operated diaphragm pumps can just be left to do their job.

Features of the Debem Boxer AODD Pump:

  • Can be run dry and can pump long distances and dry run without damage, making them unaffected by process stops and pauses in the production line.
  • Self-priming capabilities of up to 6m for difficult suction conditions
  • Can handle viscosities up to 25000 cp (depending upon installation)
  • Patented stall protection - If there is a pressure imbalance the pump will continue running without stalling, reducing downtime and time consuming manual intervention.
  • Easily adjustable flow - By amending the air inlet pressure, you can efficiently meet the exact flow requirements of an installation/process.
  • Wide range of uses - Can handle viscous fluids with low moisture content, solids up to 4mm and aggressive chemicals due to the various diaphragm materials.
  • Low cost to maintain - Long life diaphragms designed for more than 50M cycles and a lot fewer internal wearing parts to maintain compared to equivalent AODD pump models.
  • Fine tuning of motor speed at a constant pressure.
  • Actuated via a non-lubricated air system
  • 3 suction & delivery port positions
  • Can be either submerged into the fluid or surface mounted
  • ATEX approved to Zones 1 & 2, II 2/2 GD c IIB T135ºC & II 3/3 GD c IIB T135ºC

Read our  AODD pump guide for more information on their working principle and applications they are typically suited to.

Debem BOXER AODD pumps have a large range of benefits that make them a “fit and forget” solution ideal for many industrial processes.

  • Low cost to maintain - Long life diaphragms designed for more than 50 million cycles and a lot fewer internal wearing parts to maintain compared to equivalent AODD pump models (30 vs a typical 72).
  • Easily adjustable flow - By amending the air inlet pressure, you can efficiently meet the exact flow requirements of an installation/process.
  • Leak-free – It’s seal-less design makes the Boxer air operated diaphragm pump ideal for handling corrosive fluids that may cause harm, as well as generally being a cleaner solution.
  • Patented stall protection - If there is a pressure imbalance the pump will continue running without stalling, reducing downtime and time consuming manual intervention.
  • Dry run capabilities – Can dry run without damage, making unaffected by pauses in a production line or instances where the operator has left them running
  • Self-priming up to 6m – Do not need an additional manual priming device to enable them to draw long distances.
  • Versatile - Can handle viscous fluids with low moisture content, solid content, fuels and lubricants and aggressive chemicals due to the various diaphragm materials.
  • 100% pump testing - All models undergo a suction and operation test, as well as a leak check to ensure all are fit for purpose, rather than batch testing.

AODD pumps are a versatile type of pump design, able to transfer a large range of high and low viscosity fluids thanks to the multiple materials diaphragms are constructed of, including aggressive chemicals thanks to their seal-less design. The Debem Boxer air operated diaphragm pumps' pumping mechanism makes them suitable for most liquids including those containing solids and shear sensitive fluids. They are popular choices in industrial plants where air supply is already easily accessible as it is often cheaper to run than electrical pumps.

FAQs

The pump is made up of two chambers. As the air forces the diaphragm to move in to the one chamber it forces the fluid inside into the outlet, whilst the other chamber fills up with fluid drawn from the inlet. As the diaphragm moves back into the opposite chamber, the fluid now in that chamber is forced out and the other chamber begins to fill up.

Ensuring compatibility with the fluid being pumped is a vital part of AODD pump specification to avoid swelling, erosion and even melting of the casing, diaphragm and balls. Our AODDs are available in PP, Aluminium or Stainless Steel and diaphragms in PTFE, EPDM, NBR, Hytrel and Santoprene. Upon disclosure of the fluid you are handling we will establish the best solution.

Yes - The Debem Food Boxer is constructed of food grade 316 Stainless Steel and PTFE, and the Saniboxer is 3A approved with 360 degree quick emptying system for CIP. The standard Boxer models however are reserved for non-food applications.

Thanks to the absence of a mechanical seal that needs cooling and lubricating, AODDs are able to run dry or against a closed discharge indefinitely without causing damage to the pump.

AODD pumps are very versatile in their ability to handle aggressive fluids, solids and viscous liquids, and their seal-less design meaning less leaks makes them ideal for hazardous fluids. They are however limited to the fact that they require a compressed air supply to be on site to operate the pump.

There are four common installation types. 1. Above the fluid as it is self priming. 2. Drum/tank mounted 3. Immersed (with an exhaustn tube vented to the atmoshpere) 4. Below the fluid with flooded suction

Yes! Whereas with an electric motor you would fit a variable speed drive, with an AODD you can simply adjust the air inlet pressure to control the flow you receive the other end.

Yes, air operated diaphragm pumps have excellent suction capabilities without need for a manual priming device.

Yes. Thanks to the absence of any close fitting or rotating parts, AODD pumps can handle solid content in fluids.

To ensure you get the correct Debem spare parts, we need to identify the exact Debem pump model you have. Please advise us of the model number and serial number which can be found on the pump label which is usually on the top of the pump body.

Castle Pumps can supply all Debem pump parts detailed on the spare parts list including diaphragms, balls, ball seats and casings.

Debem AODD pump models are available with additional accessories including air regulator, pulsation dampener to reduce vibrations and provide a smoother flow, trolley, batch meter for preset transfer, pump cycle counter and basket strainer.

As well as a diaphragm that can run for 50 million cycles before replacement is expected, Debem AODD pumps have a lot fewer internal parts; 30 versus a typical 72 in other models.

Yes! Debem Air operated diaphragm pumps are approved to ATEX Zone 2 as standard, with Zone 1 available upon request.

All Debem Boxer and Food boxer air operated diaphragm pumps have an integrated patented stall protection. This enables the pump to run under a pressure imbalance to reduce downtime and limit manual operation
