Azcue LD VP/EP Self Priming Split Casing Centrifugal Pump

The Azcue LD VP/EP Self Priming Pump is the LD double suction centrifugal pump with integrated vacuum or electric priming pump, designed for where suction conditions may be difficult. For longer distances, the vacuum priming pump should be selected thanks to its ability to dry run for short periods of time.

The Azcue LD is a split casing pump, which is essentially a single stage centrifugal pump with a double suction impeller supported between bearings, splitting the pump case into two separate chambers. This double suction design means that the LD is capable of much higher flow rates at lower pressures than alternative vertical centrifugal pumps, making them suitable for high volume transfer of thin, clean fluids like water.

The LD vertical centrifugal pump is a long coupled pump, making it easier to maintain as you can get to the pump head without removing the motor first, and more durable for continuous use as it has additional bearings in the pump head to share the strain of operation. A further benefit of this split case centrifugal pump are the separate shafts in the pump head and motor, meaning that if there is a problem with one, the whole thing doesn’t need to be replaced. Thanks to its wear rings, there is small clearance between the impeller and pump casing preventing these parts from wear. Wearing rings are designed to be replaced periodically, preventing the more costly replacement of the impeller or casing.
