The Azcue BT-HM-MG Spacer Coupled Triple Screw Pump is essentially the BT-HM supplied with a magnetic coupling, which prevents the chance of a mechanical seal leaking and therefore increases service life for more critical applications. The Azcue BT-HM is the most commonly specified screw pump in the Azcue range thanks to its robust construction and high pressure capabilities whilst remaining competitively priced.
As a positive displacement pump, screw pumps are able to handle lubricating fluids whilst coping with fluctuating flow rates, pressures and viscosities without losing efficiency. The Azcue BT-HM magnetic drive pump is therefore ideal for the transfer of heavy fuel oils, diesel and lubricants under a range of performance requirements. The nature of the screw pump design means it can be used where suction capabilities are difficult such as pumping over long distances or where the pump is located above the fluid
These self priming screw pumps have a spacer coupling for maintenance of the pump without having to remove the motor first and an additional ball bearing in the pump head to share the strain of operation, making it ideal for more heavy duty, continuous use. Thanks to its compact design, this horizontal triple screw pump is ideal for installations with limited space and has a top mounted suction and discharge.

The BT-HM Spacer Coupled Screw Pump is manufactured by Azcue Pumps. As the official UK Agent of Azcue Pumps, Castle Pumps are a leading Bombas Azcue supplier in the UK with unrivalled technical knowledge. Azcue Pumps are a European manufacturer with over 100 years’ experience in type approved pumps for marine and offshore applications. Today their pumps are installed in more than 10,000 vessel builds. Whilst originally developed for the marine market, Azcue Pumps’ reliability in applications that depend upon the safety and operation of a ship saw them become a desirable product in industrial applications involving water, fuels and lubricants.
One of the key benefits of the BT-HM triple screw pump like the other models in the Azcue range, is that is benefits from interchangeable parts for reduced on board stockholding. We guarantee supply of spares for 15 years from model discontinuation for long term pump servicing, saving the user from having to prematurely replace a pump that just needs maintenance.
Azcue BT-HM magnetic drive pump are cast, machined and assembled at their foundry in Spain. Each pump is manufactured to order and designed to fit your process, resulting in greater efficiency and lower overall lifetime cost in terms of wear and energy consumption. Before leaving the factory, pumps are individually tested to confirm performance meets the requirements set out in your enquiry.
The viscosity of lubricating fluids such as fuels and oils can change with a change in the temperature, unlike fluids such as water. Whereas a centrifugal pump’s performance is affected by fluctuations in the viscosity of the fluid, screw pumps operate just as efficiently. For that reason, the BT-HM triple screw pump is ideal for the following applications:

FAQs
Rather than having a mechanical seal to prevent liquid escaping from between the motor and pump shaft, magnetically coupled pumps use two magnets. The absence of mechanical seals that are prone to wear reduce the chance of leaking and maintenance.
The drive magnet is attached to the shaft operated by the motor. As the motor turns on, it spins the drive magnet which in turn spins the magnet attached to the impeller. The rotation of the impeller produces the power that drives the liquid through the pump.
Due to their seal-less design meaning they are not prone to leaks, magnetic drive pumps are very popular for the pumping of flammable, toxic and hazardous chemicals, acids and other potentially dangerous fluids that do not contain abrasives.
No! The presence of solids can stick to the magnets and interfere with the operation of the pump.
Under extremely high temperatures or excessive torque the magnets may decouple meaning that the pump shaft can slip causing stoppages and inefficiencies.
