Enquiry

An offshore engineering company required a surface mounted pump to transfer kerosene at 450m³/hr; however there were some budget constraints.

Solution

Our normal practice is to select pumps with a cast or stainless steel casing for kerosene, but this was not possible with the budget constraints in place. We therefore had to supply a centrifugal pump with a GGG 40 ductile iron casing, which is a lower cost alternative. GGG 40 ductile iron is robust and combined with the explosion proof motor, makes the pump perfectly suitable for handling kerosene. The customer approved the specification and the pump was delivered to Nigeria in 10 working weeks.
