Enquiry
A Marine Dredging company was having issues with their current supplier of self priming pumps. Pumping sand causes erosion to the internals of a pump, which is something that cannot be avoided. To save having to replace the dredging pump every time, having a reliable source of spare parts is crucial.
General wearing spare parts for the original centrifugal water pump were typically on a four week lead time. The pump was critical to the company’s operation, as every day the pump was not in operation it was costing the company huge amounts of money.
Solution
We selected a very robust centrifugal self priming centrifugal pump with an open bladed impeller and hard faced mechanical seal that could easily handle the sand content in the sea water. Understanding how important this seawater dredging pump was to the customer’s operation, we had to have confidence that we could supply spare parts quickly. The general wearing spare parts of the self-priming pump we supplied are supplied from stock in the UK or shipped from the factory within one week.
The solution we offered was a significant improvement on their current situation and saved the company money with no loss of down time.
