Enquiry

Castle Pumps were approached by a dewatering contractor in Nigeria who required dewatering pumps for a pond in a remote location. The customer did not have access to a mains power supply and therefore required the pumps to be diesel driven.

The pond contained 600m³ of water and the customer wanted this emptied in around 6 hours. The waste water pumps were required to be self-priming and able to handle silt. Due to the remote location, they wanted to purchase two pumps to ensure there was a backup in the event of a failure.

Solution

We have access to a range of high quality and reliable trolley mounted diesel driven centrifugal pumps. The trolley ensures that the pump system is completely mobile and the customer can move it around the site with ease.

We selected 4” pumps that could handle up to 45mm solids; the customer was using a strainer so we knew this would be sufficient. These dewatering pumps are capable of supplying 150m³/hr at the required head, which ensures that the pond is emptied in the required time of 6 hours. The centrifugal water pumps are coupled to 11Kw Lombardini engines to maintain reliability.
