Metal Foundry Dust Laden Water – Peristaltic Pump
Castle Pumps received an enquiry from a metal foundry in America. They were looking to pump water containing up to 2 ¼ lb of foundry dust per gallon of water, making the fluid quite abrasive. This was to replace an existing pump on site that had come to its end of life and they wanted something lower maintenance. It also meant that ideally it would fit into the 2 ½” pipework already installed. and run 5 days a week, 24 hours a day.
Water Based Dye Transfer – Peristaltic Pumps
Castle Pumps have been working for a good few years now with a manufacturer of site machinery for the quarry, mining, aggregate and forestry industries. They originally approached us when they were in need of a pump to be used with one of their large-scale colouring trommels. The trommel works by moving mulch, wood chippings, aggregates and sand in large volumes along a conveyor whilst spraying it with dye to colour it for landscaping.
Heavy Grout Transfer for Drilling Specialist - Peristaltic Pump
This customer needed to replace their current pump as it was not completely suitable for their application - lacking control features which meant supervision was required when start/stopping the pump. We provided them with a completely bespoke peristaltic pump specifically designed for their application. It had all the desired control features, allowing supervision-free operation and improving their productivity. One of the main problems they had was having to operate the pump manually.
Fresh Water Pumping for Civil Engineering - Vertical Inline Pump
This customer required a high flow fresh water transfer pump which would be free from corrosion and therefore keep the water contaminant free. We selected a bronze pump which we knew would be able to handle this type of fluid without any complications. We also decided to couple the pump with an electric 4 pole motor running at 1450 RPM which would increase the lifespan of the pump and the wearing components in the pump, which in time, reduce overall costs.
Sea Water Injection - Long Coupled Self Priming Centrifugal Pumps
Castle Pumps are able to supply pumps for both marine and industrial applications, and pride themselves on supplying pumps that best match the customers requirements. This enquiry was for self priming sea water injection pumps but the customer requested that the material be stainless steel 316, rather than the recommended material of bronze. We were able to provide a suitable pump that matched the customers requirements and which came in the requested material of stainless steel.
Testing Rig for Pipeline Pig Manufacturer - Multistage Pump
This pipeline pig manufacturer was hiring diesel driven pumps every time outdoor testing was taking place, but found that the hired pumps were noisy and inaccurate. They therefore wanted to purchase their own pump which would produce 80 l/sec at 8-10 bar, which was capable of 3-10 minute cycles, 6-10 times a day, with a maximum current of 158 A.
